As Georgia Gwinnett College’s charter president, Dr. Daniel J. Kaufman enthusiastically accepted what many believed to be the daunting challenge of building a new college from scratch – and not just any college, but one specially designed for student success, accessible to students of all levels of academic preparation, and a model for innovative approaches to higher education for the 21st Century. This institution’s success is a testament to his ability to engage community partners, recruit and motivate accomplished faculty and staff and strategically implement a growth plan that quickly formed a solid foundation for GGC’s continued growth and development. More importantly, Georgia Gwinnett will make a difference in the lives of students for many decades to come. Georgia Gwinnett College will forever stand as a legacy to Dr. Kaufman’s inspiring leadership, incredible vision and heartfelt dedication in serving the youth of Gwinnett, the State of Georgia, the nation and beyond. Dr. Kaufman departed the college in 2013 after accepting the position of president of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce in 2013.
